Scale labels are direct thermal labels, which do not need a ribbon to print. The ink is embedded within the label material and appears when exposed to the heat of the printhead. They can be perforated or non-perforated with black timing marks or gap sensors, or continuous for customizable label sizes.
Scale labels come on a roll with sizes dependent on the printer brand. Measurements for CAS, DIGI, Bizerba, and Ishida scale labels are in millimeters. Measurements for Hobart and Mettler Toledo scale labels are in inches.
